A really lovely pub/restaurant with lots of space with areas to relax around an open fire or sit at the bar and have a quiet pint. Big range of beers on tap with plenty of non alcoholic drinks including Salcombe new London light non alcoholic gin in three different flavours. First evening I had the fish in chips which was cooked in a very light and crispy batter and the fish was perfectly steamed inside the batter. Lovely homemade tartare and curry sauce for dipping the perfectly cooked chips in, Crumble for afters was delicious with a lovely crumble topping. Hats off to the chef!!! Service from Joe was first class with food checks and topping up our drinks regularly. Toilets clean and tidy. Really lovely atmosphere, laid back and relaxed with a contemporary feel. The horseradish ketchup sauce with the burger is a real highlight and one to definitely try. Can't wait to visit again soon.

This place is lovely! We were put off by recent reviews but tried it, unfortunately on the last day of our holiday... would have gone several times in our week's holiday as food was wonderful, would loved to have tried the other dishes on the menu. The manager Jack was excellent, so enthusiastic, friendly and professional and all the staff were great. Seafood platter was delicious and a huge helping, also had seafood linguini which was brilliant too. A village pub with lovely atmosphere and great food... we will be back!

Visited the Village Inn on Sunday lunchtime.(pre-book online). Social distancing was very well implemented and the staff were very friendly, explaining all the new requirements. Full menu was available and I had the sea trout which was very well prepared. Highly recommended.

Very high quality restaurant in a pub - exemplary service, delicious food and excellent organisation. We had a lovely Sunday Lunch treat with exceptionally good food. The Inn could give lessons in customer service to a lot of places, with a warm welcome and just the right level of customer service throughout. Traditional Sunday Lunch was nearly perfect (OK so like 95% of places and homes, they didnt quite get the roast potatoes crispy but that's almost universal) and one of our number had the perfectly cooked fish and chips. Portion sizes good. Taste excellent. Priced at the higher end of normal and excellent value for the quality of what you get. Nice atmosphere, very clean, well managed.

Love the Village Inn's cosy character and tasty food. Good value, well cooked pub staples but splashed out on 28 wild bass which was gorgeous. Puds full on too.

The perfect Devon village pub - walking distance from our rented property in Thurlestone. Really accommodating despite not booking on Saturday night, made room for us including pram and high chair. Good outside seating, lots of local ales, plenty of variety on the menu, with great seafood specials. Recommend the skate. Will be back.

A brilliant find! The food was outstanding, and the service was perfect. The pub itself is a great mix of old pub and restaurant we loved it.

Went for lunch walking from Thurlestone Sands, food excellent at this price point vs others in the area. Fish pie tasty and burger best I can't remember in a while. Deserts a little expensive but good. Covid one way system in place and all staff with visors, good show.
